I am an artist based in the Gloucestershire specialising in mosaic and occasionally painting.  My approach to my art focuses on design and form.

 

​After a career in graphic design and gaining a degree in Fine Art from the University of the Highlands and IsIands, I co-founded a mosaic art studio (TomatoJack Arts) with Lynda knott in Berkeley, Gloucestershire in 2011. Over the following 13 years we built a successful business teaching mosaic to adults and completed dozens of mosaic projects with schools as well as undertaking private commissions and public artworks.  During this time I steadily worked on my own art practice and now working independently, I produce mosaic sculptures and exhibit widely as well as taking on commissions. I have also worked with the Cotswold Sculptors Association to curate exhibitions thoughout Gloucestershire and I am a professional member of BAMM (the British Association for Modern Mosaic).

About my work:

My work is inspired by many aspects but my main focus is the relationship between design and the natural world. The materials are integral to my work along with understanding the mastery of mosaic and how the andamento (flow) of the tesserae influences the forms as well as the method of application. ​
